Beth Porter / CEO & Co-founder
Beth is a seasoned product development executive with a career-spanning use of technology to deliver better individual and team outcomes; prior roles include VP Product for edX, VP Software Product Management for Pearson Education, and senior engineering and product management positions at Mathsoft and PTC. She is a lecturer with the MIT Media Lab and Questrom Business School at BU. She also advises education, publishing, and technology clients on strategy, vision and execution for online learning solutions that meet business needs.
Dan Calacci / CTO
Dan is a creative technologist at the MIT Media Lab who believes thoughtful technological platforms can help us connect with each other. He has spent the past two years building production-ready research tools to prove it. Dan has played a central role in building massively scalable Deep Learning architectures, interactive data visualizations, behavioral health mobile applications, social recommendation systems, and an interface to control a population of self-autonomous boats.
David Shrier /Chairman & Co-founder
David Shrier is the founder & CEO of MIT spinout Distilled Analytics, a Lecturer with the MIT Media Lab, and an Associate Fellow with the Said Business School, University of Oxford. He leads the Oxford Fintech and Oxford Blockchain online programmes, and is on the advisory board of WorldQuant University. David is a serial innovation catalyst, having developed $8.5 billion of growth opportunities with several startups as well as Fortune 1000 companies including Dun & Bradstreet, Wolters Kluwer, Ernst & Young and GE. His books include Trust::Data, Frontiers of Financial Technology, and New Solutions for Cybersecurity. David holds an Sc.B. from Brown University
Sandy Pentland / Co-founder
Alex "Sandy" Pentland is a world renowned professor, researcher, author, speaker, innovator, entrepreneur, and advisor. He holds multiple academic and professional positions, including the Toshiba Professor of Media, Arts, and Sciences at MIT. He was declared by Forbes to be one of the "7 most powerful data scientists in the world", and he has received many awards and prizes. Sandy is the author of Social Physics among other books and papers, and he a founding scholar in the field of computational social science. Sandy holds a BA from University of Michigan and a PhD in Psychology from MIT.
